Looking for your place? You are welcome here.

The Congregational Church of Topsfield is a progressive Christian community serving Topsfield, Massachusetts and the surrounding communities. We believe that gathering in Christian community makes it possible for us to do God’s work of love and justice in the world. Why not join us?

Topsfield’s OG Christian Community

Looking for deep roots and a living faith? The Congregational Church of Topsfield has been part of this community since 1663. Founded alongside the town itself, we’ve been seeking to serve God and our neighbors for more than three centuries—all the while evolving as we gain more experience and understanding.

As part of the United Church of Christ, this is a community where you’re not asked to sign on to a specific creed or confession in order to belong. What matters here is a shared desire to follow Jesus and to know God more deeply.

This is a place where people ask real questions, share their lived experiences, and put their faith into action in the world. It’s also a place that pauses each week to worship, reflect, and reconnect—so that together, you can step back into the world renewed and ready to love and serve again. Curious?

Meet our pastor, Kate Dalton

Hi, my name is Kate Dalton, and I’m the pastor here at the Congregational Church of Topsfield. Our congregation is rooted in the Christian tradition—a tradition that calls us to abundant love and radical welcome. Every week we renew our connection to God and to one another each week through worship, with the hope that these gatherings strengthen and inspire us to carry our faith into the world throughout the week.

Journeying through life these days isn’t easy. Many of us feel more disconnected than ever, and the loneliness epidemic is real. At the Congregational Church of Topsfield, we offer a place to connect. Whether it’s attending Sunday worship, volunteering with local mission partners like Lifebridge in Salem, or simply asking me or anyone in the congregation to meet for coffee and conversation, there are many ways to build relationships here.

If you’re curious about the Congregational Church of Topsfield, I encourage you to attend worship or an event. If you’d like to explore from a distance first, you can find previous worship services and sermons here. And if you prefer to connect with me before meeting the larger congregation, I’m always happy to do that—just be in touch.

Wishing you the blessing of community and connection grounded in love.

Kate
